COLLEEN HEALEY

OWNER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Colleen was born and raised in Canada’s eastern Arctic community of Iqaluit. She spent much of her life travelling internationally; working for nearly a decade in many of the top museums and galleries across Europe and the Near East, specializing in art conservation, curation, and design. After returning to the Arctic in 2011, Colleen built a reputation for renovating and designing beautiful spaces, that successfully evolved into the well-established design firm, ArcticDeco.

While Colleen loves to create unique designs for clients in a variety of decor styles, her signature design style can best be described as a Nunavut-Scandi-Modern infused with hints of international ethnographic influences. Her design approach always seeks to attain a balance between the art and science of design – balancing form and function – to achieve beautiful yet functional and simple yet thoughtful spaces that you can’t help but love.

When Colleen’s not busy running her business, she loves to unplug and explore with her daughter and husband. She also spends time fundraising for children’s rare disorder research, gardens in her Arctic greenhouse, restores art and furniture, and attempts to learn the ukulele.
